Wrafton House Surgery NHS are currently trialling the use of AI scribes. This helps us to provide the highest standard of care by allowing the Clinician to focus on the patient as the scribe captures what is being discussed in the consultation. AI scribes are a secure and advanced tool that assists our clinical staff during consultations by documenting the conversation they have with their patients.
AI Scribes explained.
AI Scribe are a secure, artificial intelligence (AI) tool that listens to both the patient and clinicians in a consultation and creates accurate, summarised notes that are then added to the medical record. It is designed to support clinicians by saving time and making sure that medical records are up to date and information given is accurately recorded. Clinicians review and approve the notes captured by the AI Scribe before they are added to your patient record.
Benefits to patients:
- Allows clinicians to focus on the patient and not on typing notes or paperwork.
- Accurately captures everything that is being said by both staff and patients.
- Streamlines and speeds up the note taking process and any subsequent referrals or onward communication, allowing clinicians to spend more time doing what they should be.
Privacy and Patient Consent.
We always ask your permission in the consultation – whether Face to Face or over the telephone before we use them. If you prefer not to use an AI Scribe during your appointment please let us know. The Clinician will continue without and take notes manually as normal. This will not effect your care in any way. The decision is yours.
