EMERGENCIES

A doctor is available 24 hours a day for all urgent calls. Injuries from accidents can be treated at the Urgent Care Centre at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Welwyn Garden City. In the event of an acute emergency such as a patient collapse it may be better to dial 999 for the ambulance service. The out-of-hours service is provided for emergency medical problems by the Herts Urgent Care organised on-call service. It is for emergencies and urgent problems which cannot wait until the following day to be seen. Please do not abuse this service.

If you require assistance urgently but you do not think a 999 response is justified, call 111. All calls are free to this 24-hour service.

As an alternative for advice on any medical problems you might have, you may contact NHS 111 on 111 for nurse advice 24 hours a day. See website below.
